Church leadership are the very first people that should be trained in spiritual gifts or whatever characteristics you are profiling. You need to work with your church leaders to capture information on what ministries are available in your church. What gifts and passions would be helpful in those ministries? You may have heard that you should write "job descriptions" for each of your ministries. That's true, but usually those descriptions get carefully tucked into a drawer, never to see the light of day. Instead, your data entry volunteer types them into Members To Action, including information on the gifts and passions that would profile the ministry. This way, not only can you use the information to match to potential volunteers, but also you can print out a full-page description of the ministry if it looks like it might be a good fit.
